Jane's Montessori Academy now accepting applications

Jane's Montessori Academy opened its doors at 1375
Francisco Rd., Columbus just in time for back-to-school. The
preschool and kindergarten is named in honor of Jane Wolfe
Chabria, who is credited with opening Columbus' first
Montessori school in 1965. Sadly, this education pioneer
recently passed away, but her nephew Jai Chabria and his
wife, Tammy Chabria, reopened the academy under its new
name.
"It's an exciting opportunity to continue to teach children in
the Montessori method that Jane Chabria introduced to
Columbus over 40 years ago," said principal Tammy Chabria.
"We are committed to working with our parents to foster a
community where their children can reach their fullest
potential."
"We are extremely proud of our faculty," she added. "Each
one of our teachers has her bachelor's degree. Additionally,
we will maintain a 1 to 8 teacher-to- student ratio."
Applications for enrollment are being accepted. The school
adheres to the Montessori method of teaching developed by
Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s. Children ages 2-1/2
to 6 years are admitted. School uniforms are required to foster
a community-based environment. For more information on the
academy and the Montessori method, visit

"Our aim is not only to make the child understand, and still less to
force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse
him to his innermost core."
